#%$@ Happens Bro. I feel for you but it happens to all of us sooner or later. This just happened to me also. This crank (which was rebuilt by Art) came out of a motor that has less than 10 tanks ran through it. I don't blame Art, He's more than proven his self in the past. I also don't believe skis are so sensative that not following a "correct break in" or "double mixing oil" caused yours or my engine failure. If it were then half the new skis sold would fail due to the newb mistakes made by uniformed buyers. Sometimes even new parts fail, I guess both you and I are the lucky ones (unfortunately) Good luck getting it back together.

I don't think Art rebuilds cranks. Are you sure he didn't send it to Crankworks for that?

I am not blaming Art, it just frustrating having a motor built, throwing all this money at it and never actually get to ride the ski for more than 30mintues. It's on it's way to his shop, I am sure Art will make things right.

I have not much more time than that myself. Probably more like 2 hours total.

Ride 1 & 2 - Maybe 15minutes each, #1 was in nasty surf and only my first time out this year, #2 was about the same time with no surf, less then a foot high. No issues, carbs were out a bit.

Ride #3 - Rode about 30 minutes and the whole time something was not right, stater was disentigrating on me...........

Ride #4 - New stator, may have ridden about an hour. Was having bad cavitation issues.

Ride #5 - Replaced Pump Seal, Cavitation fixed. 10 minutes into the ride the front piston lets go at 1/2 throttle. May have been damaged from when the stator let go and may have advanced the timing during its failure.........who knows.

Before Ride #1, The last ride last year (Late spring) the front piston had let go also, More my fault, had it pinned. Fixed it but it had a gremlin and I never really tried to fix it, ended up being a popoff issue.

So, I am averaging 5 rides between pistons, that is all that I did before it let go last year.

chit happens.

I know chit happens but here is a kicker for ya....My WB1 caught fire in my garage the night before I was supposed to leave with both skis down to the shore. So I lost both skis in one weekend.....When it rains it pours lol

Well just wanted to update. After 7 months the ski finally runs!!!! What the culprit was I am not 100% sure because I changed a lot of electronics, fuel line, fuel filters etc. but just happy it runs! Now it is ready for my first Daytona experience...Woot!
