Hey Me again
I Know most people say i should buy an Fx1, or SJ but i quite like my 550sx.

So My Hard Decision is: i have a spare 550sx hull i could do some mods on and keep it (as i love projects) (eventually an 1100 swap ;) ) or just buy the Fx1 or SJ

Opinions Please
Thanks

im not sure if its worth while

It's not.

Take a good look around and see who rides 550's with big motors for flatwater freestyle.
Ride it like it is. Plenty good enough for old skool freestyle which isn't seen much anymore these days.
For modern flatwater stuff, you need to drop big bucks - unfortunately.

Dale you are an animal. I am gonna the oposite direction with this.

Hell yes I vote for the 1100, make sure you post a reeeeeeeallly long thread about every single move you make with alot of pictures.

As soon as you are done I was thinking a 1983 nissan sentra with a 454.

And remember the biggest motor in the world is only as good as the pump and prop it is in front of....

So My Tuff Decision is: i have a spare 550sx hull i could do some mods on, and i thinking about dropping a big engine in it (kawasaki 900cc OR Kawasaki 1100cc), and i really like project and being an individual, and me and my dad know what were doing when it comes to ski's now as the 550sx is my 3rd and we've rebuilt every ski ive had, but im not sure if its worth while

Dale

getting that power to a proper pump setup will be a lot of work, never gonna do much with crazy power on a 550 pump

No point in going bigger than a 750 in that hull. You won't fit an exhaust worth anything to get the performance from it. Even with a 750, you need some OP nozzles to get the power down. After a 750, you are held back by the pump and width of the engine compartment.

Reed 550's are good motors though and I would just put a couple bolt-ons in it for a while. People recommend hulls to try based on some overall details, but that only gives you some direction. You will know what you want when you get more ride time on those hulls.
