1200 superjet

I have a old sn superjet that I'm dropping a gp 1200 motor in to this is my first build . Im just looking for advice on what pump and prop I should go with for freestyle since this motor is going to be a monster!

Might make an okay rec boat (surf and racing) but if you're not going to race it, stick with a twin for sure.

If you just want a cool project, put it in a blaster.

Check other member builds before you start. Lots of information here. If I was to do it again I would have put in a DASA 1000 - 1200 motor. It would have been cheaper after I took into consideration labor / modifications / additional weight / busted knuckles / holes in my shop wall.......

A stock triple is one thing..But a 1200 twin is another..I wonder what you could do with a stock hull with that setup.
Isn't there someone throwing in a TPE in an sj?
I think somebody is.

One of my buddies built an sn with a yami 1100, very dissapointing, the stock exhaust tube really chokes off the big motor. Ended up putting it in a blaster. I have a blaster with a mild yami 1100, and its a really fun boat.

There were several stock hulls with 900-1000cc engines around before A/M hulls became popular. At the time everyone did only rolls so even A/M hulls were too long for flips. Our best local rider started with a full length Trinity and it always nosed in with 900 power. The same engine in a shorter hull went plate to plate. A modern DASA1200 with large pump may be enough to get a 7 foot long 330lb hull all the way around.

Carmine Calgno (sp!) put a 1100/1200 in a rn. It was in one of the last issues of splash magazine. Took a lot of testing to get it right. Really tall prop. Etc etc. he kept it for years then sold it to someone in Norway. Who would have thunk he was years before the GP innovators. Josh Block has his SJ at Daytona with a 1100 or 1200 triple in it at Lake Diaz.

I had a DASA 1000 and PFP in a SN. It was fun, but i just turned the SN into a surf ski and went with a limited setup.

Would I do it again, never. spend money on a hull before a motor
