I guess my real question, even though I dont think its possible, is : Can I just port this (intake opening) clean and do the same on the other cylinder and re-use these? Basicly like a port job.

As always it destryoed my head, piston and rod bearing also.

No that sleeve is cashed, you could replace that sleeve and rebore both holes to match. The head would probably work ok if you can get all the metal fagments out of it but that looks like a stocker, I would just replace it and be done.

if you are interested in resleeving... i have a cylinder that the outside cracked but the sleeves are perfect. 81mm OEM bore and LPW freeride ported.

The pics are not that good, but the sleeves are in great condition

let me know, I'd be willing to sell it to ya... it's just sitting around at my place.

Thats what I thought. No go on this sleeve.

Frosty: I would be interested but this is a Kawi 650 cylinder and yours looks like a Yam.

I am currently weighting options...

Would a 750 Cylinder fit on 650 cases?

Looks like the same thing that happen to me Tuesday. And i also was on a 5hr rebuild. ~2 of which were spent baby riding breaking it in. mines not nearly as deep. i need to get a pic up to see what you all think.

Talk about invading my thread!!!!!! (Just kidding dude, this might become a reference thread about saving or junking sleeves.

Now on another note: Can you press OUT sleeves and re-press them IN. In other words, are they re-usable in different cylinders?

To the best of my knowledge Kawi sleeves are cast in non removable except of course on the old aluminum 440 cylinders.New cylinder time, how does the other piston look and what size is it ,I MAY HAVE SUMPIN FO YOU!

Well I was already quoted by the Business who sold this 'rebuilt' engine to me on sleeves, so I take it they are replaceable. I also saw one for sale on ebay.

But the other piston is perfect and the sleeve also. It was bored .5 over.
Let me know if you can help out.

Im probably gonna start a thread on pressing sleeve's IN to get some input before I give it a shot.

Ok here is the deal on the sleeves, yes they are replaceable but, they are cast in not pressed in like on the Yamahas and Seadoos. I believe you can verify this on a wiseco piston fittment chart. You can replace them of course just as you can replace a cylinder liner on a v8 chevrolet. To do either you have to completely bore out the old liner and press a new liner in it its place.Check around on the cost of getting that done and then get back to me.I think you will find it will be much cheaper to buy a cylinder ,one piston and have the cylinder bored to those two pistons. If you want you can send me the pistons or piston and I can send the whole deal back to you turn key.I can also sell you a piston at a discount and have this cylinder bored, anyway you want to go on it ,just LMK.
