08' sj steering fix?

I don't think you can as the problem is really the cable itself among other things. I would like an easy fix also as I dont seem to get good rotation with the stock setup. I would like to look into modifying the turn nozzle and moving the cable pivot point inboard further.

yea but somebody wrote a thread on replacing the cable with a blaster cable or something. think it might of been taylor curtis?

From what I have read it is the pole and steering cable that must be changed. Someone mentioned the idea of replacing the top pole casting (fx1) with an older '96+ type, but I would rather replace the whole thing than risking damage to the stock pole. What the deal in the pump area? Does the nozzle need to be changed as well?

Just remove the 08 steering cable and pull back the rubber grommets on either end.

Then trim the stainless outer cable housing about 1cm on both ends with a tube cutter.

Remove the 1cm section of tube with a dremel cut off wheel and press the rubber boots back into place.

This will give you some extra throw in both directions with room for lever adjustment mods on the steering nozzle and turn plate.
