yeah, stick to the older ones.... much more fun and agile when it comes to price...


I don't want to sound like it was a POS or anything... Like I said, I was being critical and I have not ridden a boat in stock form in a long time. Like a stock sj would rate just a little higher than I would rate that boat... I think a carbon x-2 would be lots of fun..

I have never had mine in the surf, but I havent had issues w overly excessive water, even after a couple nose stabs. I can agree on the weight, they are 351 stock, same as SXR and hood is so freeking heavy. But I love my X2s, they have their quirks for sure, but they are so fun...and as its always been, they arent for everyone.

I rode a bone stock 2006 x-2 today and I can say it was ok. That boat needs tons of work to make it a wave slasher. First of all, they don't turn very sharp at all and it just seemed like it weighed 400lbs. A real pig in stock form. It could barely pull you up out of the water and the prop didn't hook up in whitewater at all... It has potential, but it really needs to be a lot lighter before it will be a good surf boat".

W/ that said, I did have a lot of fun on it Ya know, just being critical...

another thing... I totally agree w/ the Aussie above...

Huge problems w/ water getting in everywhere... I basically swamped the motor twice by doing slashes and jumping... It was very difficult to get going again after we cleaned the plugs several times before it would kick over again...

I seriously think guys w/ older x-2's would not like this boat... It handles nothing like, and feels less like an older x-2... I would take a B1 over it all day long, especially due to the cost difference.

I haven't had mine in the surf and prob wont ever. Didn't buy it for the surf, thats the purpose of my older X2.
My biggest complaint is the weight of the hood.

How did it ride compared to SXR?

what I really liked about it was the fact that it didn't feel like an SXR to me at all... it was easy to break loose and make the rear end slide... just as easy as a super jet in that manner. I dropped in on a 6ft wave and did a 180 slide at the bottom w/ ease... the ski also allows you to keep a higher rate of speed through chop. I want to ride it on flatwater, I bet it would be lots of fun on a really calm lake.

I guess it really comes down to weight...

Whos X2 were you riding? I am trying to keep an count of new X2s here. I know that 2 went to FL a couple years back from JSU I just dont know who they went to. Do you know if that one came thru JSU?

actually there are three in florida, two from jsu-japanese stickers and one from belguim-french stickers. one of them is in central florida and two are in south florida. that is my information from a year ago. i don't think you will be able to keep a count for the simple reason that the one that came from beligium was personally imported and not through jsu/macc racing etc. i was visiting a friend in the naples area and there @ the gas station was this older dude with a four couch trailer, a couple of yamacouches a kawi couch and a x-2 with french warning stickers. i approached him and enquired as to were he bought it from. belguim. he was there on business saw the french x-2 championships, felt nostaliglic and bought one. he contacted a shippeng agent in miami who took careof the whole transaction from airport in belgium through us customs and delivered to his door. but the catch was he hadn't figured out how to register it. his mso is in french and the jap ones come with japanese title and mso. told him to register it as a homemade vessel.

my friend just had a custum light weight x2 hull biult this year and it sick. its set up for a yamaha 701 and blaster shaft and pump. he just lost his job and i think he is looking to sell it.
