Hi Guys,
a few things i noticed about the 07 X-2 not that I have owned one but one of my ride buddies used to have one. They are chit in the surf not as far as riding goes but you would have more luck keeping water out of the tray of a superjet than the motor compertment of an x-2, out of 6 - 7 rides it only had 2 (cause he rode around the problems)that it didn't get swamped and not from getting hit by waves 1 big stab and she was toast. Was fitted with a bilge as well. This problem comes about from the airbox being open at both ends, don't know if its the same as an sxr but with the shape of the hull when you go nose down in the air it ramps water straight into the back holes on the air box, probably fixable with a sj style air box but he's sold it so didn't get to try that. As well the hood bracket is weak for the size/weight of that hood and he also had the hood come open once on an under rotated stab when one of the hood latches broke.
Please don't take this the wrong way I am not hatin on the x2, with the right mods to overcome these issues it would be a GREAT surf boat the thing handles like its on rails but these are the real world experiences we had running this boat in the surf and food for thought before you drop what is a large amount more than you could pick up and sxr or sj for over there, or convert one to fixed steer for that matter.
Cheers
Matty
P.S if there is anyone out there that wants one there are still a fair few left here in OZ i think at JETSKI World & Jetworx to name a few & with the Aussie dollar on the way down and dealers struggling to move them over here you might be able to pick one up at a good price and there will be a few shops sending ski's over to the WF's but you may have missed the boat on that one already (pardon the pun) for a deal on shipping.
