it does put a "load" on the engine but im just going to have to get a video camera to show its fine. and the extra weight size "load" would create more stress on the engine jus tlike say boring stroking high compression heads exhaust intake would put more stress on the stock components.. Right?
more load = lower top speed, slower to get on plane. of course its a load on the engine but its all about how fast you want to go.
i have put the trolling motor on the shuttle and let my brother fish around the lake with that while i went skiing.
less load than pulling a skier up behind ski...
i have a shuttlecraft and a 96 waveraider 1100 and i go 40 easy on smother stuff but if it gets rough i got to slow down to like 25-30 and just cruise. thats with 4 peeps in front and just me on the ski. its really not that much drag once you get on plane.
btw i am selling my shuttle now too
i have been doing some research lately and AL hull is do able. i even talked to a couple jet boat builders and got advice from them.
i am thinking doing a curved single piece bottom plate weld on the sides back and pump area. then weld in shaped v channel for strakes/hull stiffeners. the bonding...
haha drop off a donor hull that "just happens" to match your hull so i can build you the second one hahaha great thinking.
and hardcore umm thats kinda what i was thinking of doing but 1100 cause i got one i could part out. but that might be too much overkill on power.......
what the hell am i...
you suck flordia is way too far.
and i love the shuttlecraft. i got a 96 yamaha 1100 raider in it that is nice we throw my 2 stnadups in the bed of the truck and take the shuttle full of icechests gas cans bbq etc etc. take the shuttle and find any shore to beach it on till we leave. its great...
welds can be stronger than the metal you are welding just make sure you get your puddle right tig in' it up.
you could cut it out then drill in some alignment pins clamp it together and do a nice big fatty V grind and fill,
kinda hard to make look real pretty but strong as hell.
pocatello right? 4.5hrs hmm you realllly got me thinking road trip. im just thinking how can i fit it in. if i come over there i will want to ride so id need to bring my skis hehehe then i got no real room for another ski. oh wait its empty i can strap it down inside the shuttlecraft.
no stamping would be to costly for tooling up. im thinking hand build. english wheel planishing hammer grinder and tig welder.
im kinda liking the flatdecks but im thinking a blank flatdeck with a turfed removable plate so mods to footholds could be easy and dont effect the prime hull, like the...
well here is my thoughts. I can tig weld and shape panels with the best of em so what im thinking is making an aluminum hull so i can go river rapids riding with the big jet boats.
Im just thinking it might get kinda heavy but if i can keep it under 100lbs you think it would be a fun project? I...
it could be alot of things i dont know about, i wish i could help you out. my question is what the hell you got that 550 turfed in Mylar foil?? is sooo shiny
EDIT
oh wait im stupid its white camo.
and i had an idea on your problem. make sure your tank is venting, aka big hiss in or out...
