I wear gloves solely because I don't want to wash my hands for 20-30 minutes in nasty chemicals trying just to get half of it off. US composites basically says gloves are a good idea but a respirator is only needed when there is poor ventilation and you notice fumes... If the manufacturer is...
I will say that it does sound like you have solid friends willing to continue to help you look for it especially with as cold as that water probably is.
That said, if you're in need of money to help pay for that side scan sonar, I'll pitch in and I'm sure others wouldn't mind either.
I saw...
Really sucks man. Hopefully the divers find it before any real damage happens to it. I could see the cable just sliding under the ski without any notice to the guys driving. I would think the ski would be fairly planted on the ground though. It might roll a little but I doubt it'd be enough to...
Glad to hear you guys like it. With as much grief as I've taken over the years, I can't tell you how nice it is to hear that someone else likes and appreciates that hull. I may not get on this forum as much as I used to but I'm still happy to answer any PM's or phone calls if you guys have any...
Someone was just telling me I needed to come back to jetski's...lol. The ski runs good...maybe a little too good for my skill level because it scares me a bit when I get a good jump and I haven't even jumped boat wakes yet. I did have a little issue with my old composite fuel tank that I built...
I don't feel quite so bad now... I'm not the only one who put tons of time into a hull that has pretty much just sat there since it was deemed finished.
I would actually classify "accidental exposure" as normal use for a standup. I think if your brain is vulnerable (ie not sealed properly) then submerging is going to be the death of it whether it has this coating on it or not. Now if it's vulnerable and you have this coating on it, it might save...
Well if you youtube "liquipel", you'll find all sorts of video reviews talking about LiquiFail and liquipel sucks. I thought it was really cool all the way up to the point where the promo video says "We recommend you don't allow your device to come in contact with water but if it does liquipel...
I picked up a pair of HO Tail 41's over 3 years ago. The gloves are still fine but after letting a few friends wear them, they've gotten a little stretched and don't help me as much as they used to so they became everyone else's gloves in my boat when we ski and wakeboard. I used the sh*t...
I'm 31 so not as old as some of guys posting here but I've had a lot of injuries in my life so my body feels way older than that. I often find myself lifting and doing things like a 50+ year old man. Most of the things people complain about I've dealt with and most of them I've overcome so I'll...
Looking good man. It's amazing how much time you put in and how little progress you make once you actually pull the hulls out of the mold isn't it? Such simple tasks take WAY longer than you anticipate.
I did it because I redid the nose on my SN and didn't have external fill anymore. Spills in the engine bay do nothing...spills on a pretty paint job ruin it.
Looks like you sealed the filler neck with 5200. That won't last very long. A few months tops. You need a nice rubber gasket of some...
Either ride it as is or sand it and paint it. If you are trying to maintain the shiny visual carbon look, you're going to be sanding and buffing straight into August.
I installed the pump in it's place first. Mounted the midshaft to the bulkhead or whatever it attaches to. Then slid the midshaft and bulkhead in place until it bottomed out. Then slid it back about 1/8"-1/4" and marked the location. Shim the bulkhead up if required for height.
That's what I'm looking for. Do you have any videos you could link? The only videos I can find are promo videos so I'm skeptical since GoPro's promo videos look like they were taken with a $30k camera and edited even further with very expensive video software. GoPro's promo video is complete BS...
Yeah I always ran a lanyard when I had the camera on my jetski helmet. I had this camera mounted to a slalom ski to critique my form and didn't really know of a good way to use a lanyard. It actually came unclipped which I would've never thought was possible since I usually bash my fingers...
Here are some of the cameras I've managed to find that are on the same playing field... Apparently there are quite a lot but not a single one boasts anything about stabilization which in my mind is the MOST important thing and WAY more important than resolution.
ContourROAM - Waterproof to 3...
Looking at getting another camera and hoping there is something better than Gopro....because mine is now at the bottom of the lake. I originally owned the Gopro Hero Wide and sold it for the Gopro HD. Both were good cameras and I caught some decent footage but I was never truly...
