an acquaintance bought one of these last year. Same TAPERED! he had to fix it. Hard to believe a company as big as solas is still machining with something that is flexing and tapering the bore. I've heard they can still be an issue on the superjets too! if buying new get one from John...

Do you know if they are 135mm GPR or 133mm Kaw versions? Many cranks were made with either. Most over 77mm stroke got the GPR rods but can’t tell from your picture
Difficult question. Depends on your detonation level and somewhat rpm.
Personally I ran all oem bearings, ran 62t pins in the RD flat top pistons (Kawasakis forgings). I know some people were changing 20 hr mark but thats a little crazy if your still hold compression and no deto issues...
That’s true. I was working with Calvin in 2011/12 (maybe late 2010 we started work) to create a triple cast Kawasaki 1200 for racing. He was taking the doo sledshop cylinder and machining the sides for 120mm centers, then we welded the castings together and the added the holes for the zxi cases...
