I had a similar issue riding in salt water; switched from MSD spark plug caps (with retainers too) to OEM and solved. Start the engine in the dark and look for sparks on the outside of the spark plug cables, may be it's poor insulation from the caps.
Here you are. As you can see, there is rust coming from the inside hull fittings. I put some sealant to try to limit the water leak and to help a little to stabilize the ride plate but I'll have to open the tray area to fix this.
Since I'm new to the forum I can't PM. Do you have a steering cable or adapter to fit an OEM 08+ Superjet pole with a Blowsion steering system on a Kawasaki SXR? Do you have also the pivot bushings?

Sounds very interesting. The adjustability is at the base bracket? Is it mandatory the pole rope or does it work with the OEM stoppers? Is it all aluminum? How much is the setup without steering system?
