Custom/Hybrid Another great Watercraft Factory build!

I think the sintered bronze filters are the ones that might actually have problems keeping up, as Tom mentioned. The ones in Steve's boat actually flow more than the ones you linked to. It's the same filter media type used in the Mikuni internal carb filters. Yours show 7.6 gallons/hour and...

did my first trail ride today

As goofy as it looks, pedaling with a high cadence is the key to cycling. Standing up and cranking over the top of a hill is ok, but it takes more effort than can be sustained for any length of time. The way a geared bike should be used is to pick a cadence and change gears as necessary to...

    No water box?

The only possible legitimate reason I can think of is that he may be running a rear mounted waterbox since it's a blaster. A lot of racers have set up their boats like that.

    Infractions/automatic bans

I don't personally like treats, but we have to keep them in our house for Buddy.

    Having carb problems

If the carb is Novi modified it likely has the return restriction drilled. If so, you will need to run a restrictor in the return line. A 60 main jet is a safe starting point.

    Roo's RRP Rickter FS-1 Build

Perhaps you misunderstood Sergio. His hulls have come with an aluminum shoe for at least 4 plus years(maybe always have). This is my 4th season on mine and he hasn't updated the hull section of his site since before I bought mine. I'm pretty sure Steve(WCF) has always included one as well...

    quieting xmetal waterbox

If you are going to add water anywhere it needs to be at the outgoing side of the box. Only my opinion, but the best way to make one quieter is to replace it with an OEM RN waterbox. They make fantastic power(none have been proven better) and are relatively quiet. The weight difference is...

    Engine Builder Poll

Even though this is really just a pot stirring, thread I'll tell you what I think anyway. My suggestion is to ride different boats and see who builds what you like. After that, talk to the builder you're considering and get a feel for them. In my opinion, the relationship with the builder is...

MSD Total Loss / Totally lossed

I'm definitely NOT the final word or the authority on MSD. I just took what Tricky showed me and made it work with my boat and I'm pretty careful about how I install it. I had NO experience with it five years ago. I've been pretty fortunate with it so far. Thanks for the jinx...

    Calling all tuning Guru's

Before you change any jets or pop, go out with the LS screw and see if it gets better. A bit more on the screw may well completely solve your problem. An 1/8 or 1/4 turn can make a big difference.

Just for grins, try disconnecting the black and white wires from the start/stop switch and see what it does.

Use 2-stroke oil without TC-W3 cert.?

The only reason TCW3 oil is required is to maintain warranty compliance. Also, almost all of the better racing oils are NOT TCW3 rated. Interestingly, some of those(castor in particular)oils are actually readily biodegradable. Miscibility is(could be) the right term, but you've defined it...

    Who Mountain Bikes for exercise?

You'd think that from the opinions of a few, but I bet you'd be surprised if you rode one. It's about a pound and a half heavier than the Trek, but does everything as good or better. Should end up around 26ish. Climbs like a monkey, turns quick and light, rolls over everything, and smooths...
