Ive repaired broken off corner ears of good size on the plastic ones with thickened epoxy resin also with good luck. Then Grind/sand smooth. Dont forget to prep the hull and plastic, so it bonds well. You dont want it breaking off and going though your impeller. The alum shoe really is the way...
