by shortening the plate you incrase the ratio and make the steering faster...however, the amount of throw remains the same.. longer pole with shorter plate = faster steering a shortened pole with a stock turnplate retains the stock steering ratio

yeah its amazing how quickly the cost of hardware adds up I made 3 trips to ACE while building my REV for bolts and spent 60 bucks each time!

i use a giant adjustable, but it has tweaked more than one tool in its time if you dont have the jaws set perfectly... Nex time Im by harbor friehgt I think Ill pick up a 27 as well......

what are you replacing it with? yoiu havent had that thing very long...

I have had them like that before...you have to push it to the side just a little bit to slip on the short shaft... has never caused a problem though!
