I think they call them dry cell because you do not need to refill them with distilled water like a conventional battery. They do not leak when turned upside down etc etc. But, you are correct, they are not truely dry internally I believe.

Cool. Hey, instead of PVC try using some reinforced flexible pool hose from home depot of lowes. You can buy it by the foot, and it's pretty cheap. This way you can flex and bend it to fit better. Keep the pic coming bro... I love watching builds.

look at rings, the opening in each ring lines up with a small piece in the ring "channel" i guess you could call it. And the ring gaps then wind up offset. You cannot close the rings all the way if they are not aligned to that piece correctly. Does that make sense? Not sure of the exact...

I've got 2 seasons on a Lynn Vick dry cell... the thing is great. Nice starting power, never needed to charge it, even after sitting all winter.

That's awesome dude! Keep him going... My little nephew comes up from Florida for two weeks every summer and we ride every day. Since he was a little kid, now he's 15 and rides damn good. He had his first time in 3-5 footers last summer...
