    Skat-Trak 7/4V and 3/6V Questions Superjet

No, it means that the gal who stamped it by hand in wax form back in the day has dislexia. They only made one 7/14, it is for a Yami 155mm pump.

    Skat-Trak 7/4V and 3/6V Questions Superjet

That info is incorrect. 36v means 13/16, 47v means 14/17. Old school stamping. They used to leave off the first digit of the "variable" pitch impellers. straight pitch was 5 for 15, 55 for 15.5, etc... Standup, I think you saw the other corrected post, I simply posted here too to help...

    Prop questions on my squarenose

Hi Adam, You can run the same impellers in your ski. We're working on site updates, and I'll change some of those mis-leading bits of information soon. Thanks for checking though... Ideally, I'd run a Skat Freeride or Solas Concord at a 12/16 for your ski. Next best would be the 12/17, but the...

    skat trak pump

Hey Thanks Scottie! I had two of them painted up at Blowsion. This green one and another with dark blue where the green is. They did a great job. Thanks also for the kind words, I appreciate it...:woot: We met at Lisa's Havasu party at her London Bridge condo WF '06- Great guy. Take care...

    Prop

Oh no. We sell them both, but my suggestion changes with the set up. The Dynafly is a better closed course impeller. For Kerk, we'd have to custom pitch a Dynafly to get him all the bottom he's after. We can sell him a 9/17 Skat as it is for less money and he'll have better bottom than a Dynafly...

For less $, the SXR impeller repitched and set back is a great way to go. For a new aftermarket, I'd run a Skat C-75 Swirl set back 9/17 pitch. D

No comparison to the SXR OEM impeller. You'd be better off getting your hands on someone's take-off SXR impeller and having it pitched and set back for your set up. By the way, I forgot to agree with the guy on boring that tiny nozzle to 80-81mm. Good call. David

    skat trak pump

There's a lot more to it than that. The hub is 15mm larger, there are more vanes, and a different angle to them. All of which produce better hook up and bottom end. David

    skat trak pump

I agree, there's no real hook up gain with the set back PUMP. The vanes are shorter though. Requires a longer shaft to reach the coupler, but the nozzle assembly is in the same position. David

    skat trak pump

No, they just machine the impeller to 140mm in diameter. David

    skat trak pump

Good answer. Short and sweet, the set back "pump" (not to be confused with setting an impeller back in the pump) produces better speed for closed course. David

    what pitch prop.

I'd run a 13/16. No reason to sacrifice quick low end response with the 18, when that's just getting him more speed. The 13 will take a big enough bite to limit the spinning on take off. Skat Freeride or Concord, and set back is best for hook up. David

The stock impeller is a great design (a good copy of the 13/18 C-75 Swirl), but with a simple repitch and set back, you can get a lot more bottom end out of it. Have it pitched to a 12/17 and you'll like it a lot better. Cost is very low $, much less than replacing it with an aftermarket. David
