but i had already tried a different starter and ruled that out

so i arc the two posts on the solenoid and nothing happens. i even hooked up those two black wires shown above and still nothing happens. i tried two different batteries that i know work. not sure what else to try. could the msd enhancer be bad even though it is brand new?

thanks guys, i'll try jumping the solenoid when i get home. i didnt have a voltage/current tester so i went out aand bought one. i get home put batteries in it and nothing happens. its deader than my sj. i guess i need to buy another tester to test my tester.

thanks for the replies. before i got the motor, an msd enhancer was installed in the ebox by a local shop. i just opened the ebox and i noticed that there are 3 wires inside it that are not plugged to anything. is this normal? one is a red wire that comes out of the enhancer and the other two...
