do both. the rear footholds dont get in the way if you never use them and if you decide you dont like the straps they are easily removed. you definitely should have a front foothold or strap up front to give you the option to ride surf stance.

yamaha makes something similar to this but it is only available in japan. it has a gyro/rotor on the handlebars and pegs.

no special way to mount it, just poke a hole in the end of the strap and put one of the bolts that holds your umi bracket through the strap end. or you can tap two new holes in the bracket and hold the strap ends that way.

its amazing how much better an engine compartment looks with new fuel/water lines and a clean chamber. i had a nasty old chamber that i stripped and polished, now it looks better than new. it doesnt take that much time/work to make it look good.
