Well, this is the argument that i have heard, but I seriously doubt the factory machines the cases to match. Beside, what is there to machine, just the mating surfaces? It's not a problem putting a new crank in a set of old cases. Not arguing with you, just trying to get my head around...

Why is it a bad idea to mix cases from different engines? i.e. top of one 62T to the bottom of another 62T?

The underlay is a different story, as the glued turf on top would hold it in place. I would not do the entire tray and rails with sticky tape or with hard riding you will be doing it again.

If your meaning the double sided tape, don't do it. Use contact cement, and if done properly the turf will rip apart before the adhesive gives.

Superglue the ends together to make a continuous o-ring. I asked the same question months ago, and this was the consensus.

I have used a rubber plumbing cap for the last 2 month's, and no issues so far.:fingersx:

UMI with an x-metal -1 bracket is the only way to go.:cool2: Throw on a x-metal 0 degree bar, and it pretty much makes your steering a -3.:arms:
