I rode this ski yesterday. When I rode it back in May I just couldn't believe the power but didn't pay much attention to the handling.
It handles/turns awesome if I lean way over the pole but that got tiring after awhile and if the ski got away from me in a turn I'd get dunked. The pole...
Porpoising is a good thing for freestyle&surf, imo. If it's out of control you are not putting enough weight forward. dbr, I definitely agree on the shorter pole. Sounds like wishihad's trying to take the ski out today but I won't be able to make it :banghead:
I used mine last year at 40/40 air/water temps but restricted and routed some of my motor's water up my pole and into my suit. Just couldn't ride for much more than an hour without my feet or hands eventually going numb.
Stainless wood screws or what? I used sluts method before with the acorn nut welded to a fender washer. But of course then I figured out I like the other foot forward :banghead:
Nice! Resolution does suck though. I've been wanting to try the same thing but the best I can get w/o surf stance is a lookback barrelstab.
How's the leg?
dbrutherford, damn dude that's just about the opposite of what I'd shoot for when trying to make an sx handle like an sj :boggled:
Greg, next time don't be skeered of the waves and come all the way out to where we are riding! Haha j/k I know there was more to that story I can't wait to take...
Anyone riding the east coast is possibly averaging 50%+ flatwater anyway. It'd be pretty easy to repair by installing a scupper after the fact though. As long as it's just the internal flap that breaks and everything's still sealed up nice inside. We've all had worse breaks than a one-way...
Haha thanks! :cool2: Yeah there was soooo much more that shoulda been in that footage but we only came back with ten minutes where the camera batteries actually had a good connection. derm, fathom, and all were freakin' rippin it up too. I, of course, had NO part in jogging the batteries...
