They do waterlog, just not typically. SJ's tend to leak around seams and we hear about it more because of the beatings we put them through. But Kawis also can leak under tray, at bulkhead, or if rear trim tabs had been installed, but I don't think it is as frequent. The foam is the same.

Wake jumping is illegal (either too close to another craft or reckless operation) but I've never heard of wave jumping being illegal.
