I would say that is wayyy over kill. Just get what trim system you are going to use and mount it to get a good idea if you need to or not. I would think you may need to remove the lip a bit but nothing as drastic as whats above. Look at Parrdaddys with the Blowsion trim...

when you glue your handhold liner in, make sure you add a layer or two of cloth around the edges to help give it strength. you may not think they would see any abuse, but if you land upside down, the water will hit it pretty hard.

yup, heat + chiesel with a hammer works good, the green glue will pop off.

Thats a big marketing gimick for the masses. Tyically if a person doesn't have the cash now, then they arent going to have it the next year. Also by then they will be wanting something else so that will go on the next card. Also most people will spend more when using credit because its very easy...
