fyi, the reason poly doesn't work well with SMC is that smc has release agent pressed throughout when it's formed, when you grin to get a clean surface, you reveal fresh release agent in the glass, but that release agent evidently has no effect on epoxy resin

no need for the 550 pump, just a motor, the 440 pump is better anyways, i swapped all the parts from my 440 to my wifes 550, as long as it's a piston port motor, it'll all swap over

if your concern is it cranks over well but tough to start, try a primer

hey, fyi when you clean the carb & replace the filter, take the tank out, drain it & flush it out, get all of the crap out of the source

start off cleaning your carb, & see if the fuel filter has biodegraded, just bypass the junk stocker & get an inline from an auto parts store, it'll be a lot better
