I was a lifeguard when I was younger and I was always amazed at how many parents let their young kids come to the beach and swim by themselves.

I think it comes down to common sense. If you can't swim don't go into the water above you waste. If you can swim but not well don't go in above you chest. If you are a good swimmer use your head. If you are a parent don't let your kids swim when you are not there.

Any reason you are choosing wildwood? I think that would be one of my last choices of places to stay at the jersey shore.

The girl who died and her family rented from my company this week. The owner of the property just found a life vest in the property and wants us to return it to them. Freaky thinking she could have been wearing it at the time of the accident.

My guess is that the ski was fine and she just froze up but I don't know for sure. One more reason to never let a person without a license ride you ski.

I got the official word. She was 16, riding her uncle’s seadoo, no license, going fast in a posted no wake zone. Witnesses said she never slowed down or turned just rode right into two boats and a dock. I wonder if the ski malfunctioned. It is a shame.

I just heard this and I am not sure of any of the details but I hear that someone just died on a pwc in Ocean City NJ. Appearently they were docking (in a lagoon), hit the dock and were killed. They were either going way to fast or did not know what they were doing or both. Stay safe
