On the other hand its easier to get the bottom piece to fit perfect. I did sides first and have no gaps at *that* edge. (some other places..don't look too close :biggrin: )

I have to say its pretty f- up to see about 50 jet skis swarming around a cruiser. It amazes me the DNR isn't all over that .. (Somebody needs to get out on the lake with a camera at these events..) BTW did anyone get stopped at the "safety" checkpoint they had on the road to the campground...

I had two (n)everstarts in a row fail within *weeks*. Dead open circuit, something must break internally from the vibration. Within 30 days you get a free replacment, but on the second I didn't even bother.

If you mount it outside you'd still need to open the hood to use it. Which would be a stupid thing to do - let more air at the fire. The thing serves no purpose except to stay legal.

Where I ride in OH a fire extinguisher check is absolutely guaranteed at least once a year. They come down in the spring and sit by the ramp and check everybody.

I think the basic yasuas are rated 200 cranking amps and some performace batteries (optima, etc) claim 400 ish.

Aaron's ski sure looks clean. My thinking was to, as much as possable, wrap around corners and have edges/seams on flat areas. I'm afraid it will be more likely to peel up at the corner. I think I'll give my one-priece idea another iteration, but with the seam not going into the foothold...

yea, clearly the last place you want a seam is at the top edge of the foothold. Maybe it would be ok to go around the edge and in 2 inches or so, then piece in the toe. (?) Of course the FX1 will be twice the fun 'cause it also has to go over the top and around the back of the rails.

I've read a few posts here saying to use a heat gun to form hydroturf. Well...good thing I'm bright enough to do a test. With gun on high the hydroturf almost instantly turned to charcoal. :banghead: On low it discolored it got brittle. It just tore in two when trying to strech it.. :frown...

I've thought a 550/440 - 701 would be a interesting conversion. Never heard of anyone doing it though. For a 650 it doesn't seem it would be enough bump in performace to be worth the trouble.

Considering the quality of the rest of the work I'd think you could feather the edges and make e'm look good..
