    Yamaha Octane build

this build didn't original start out this way, i tried to buy a plain fiberglass empty sxr bottom hull from bobby for this build but he didn't want to sell just the pieces. I was going to run the sxr bottom with the octane top. So i bought a nice sxr hull, cut the top off and was going to run...

I could put gold plated lines in it and somebody wouldn't like it, but its no big deal. I listen to every piece of advice or opinion on my builds , good or bad, then I decide what im going to use. I've been saved from big mistakes several times by other people. I'm just using parts I think...

    Yamaha Octane build

The more I look at it, the top deck looks alot like a smoothed over sxr nose and hood and the rear tray area looks octane. The bottom of the eme I posted above looks pure octane though. Its not the same ski as what he rode at the finals, i know that one had an sxr bottom. hood seal area is sxr

it's kind of a poormans eme, this pic is off the ericmalone website. it's a polaris, you can tell by the same of the hood, rear of the gunnels, hull shape on the lower front. I know he's running an sxr bottom with a custom deck on his latest version but he must have had some polaris ones too.

    Rev footwells installed/sorta

sxr cant get waterlogged foam, it's not even sealed up from kawi. You could get some thick undermat and shape it to fit evenly (the ski tray). I'd remove the chalk and just glass them in. Try to find someone in your area to help.

pretty sure a liner like i had wouldn't work, you could pull out the inner liner and start over, putting what ever you like in there.

Check This Out.. my first broken trophy.

aluminum flywheels must be retorqued a couple of hours after the first install. Some builders heat them up before installing them to prevent that.

For those who wish to improve their steering...

I used one off a seadoo hx and the size is perfect, no slop, however they are about $16 at the dealer. If you are running certain tilt nozzles these are nice because they don't pop off at extreme angles. Factory sj ones will. If you are running regular nozzle I can't see any advantage
