The fx1 plate is pretty weak to begin with. I reinforced mine by epoxying aluminum plates between the ribs. (caught it before it cracked all the way). I think if you D cut it some reinforcement would be a must. BTW Anyone have a fx1 plate (stock or otherwise) for cheap let me know..

early sea doos have twin 38's ( I think all or most 580-720 are single or twin 38's) ..I don't guess you'll be putting a sea doo F/A on your SJ though!

HF seems to be, ah, generous in their capacity rating. You almost might think they don't know the difference between gross weight and capacity.

Careful with the heat though - over do it and the stuff gets brittle and cracks. (Cut some scraps and experiment with the heat gun first..)
