    Addressing Kawasaki 650sx Hood leaks

That is not all there is to it , my fixie 650sx has a Team Butch aftermarket hood, it had rear facing vents, those have been completely glassed over and now the air intake is at the rear with tubes that go to the bottom of the ski, when you take a spill it still takes on a lot of water .

    Addressing Kawasaki 650sx Hood leaks

Really that's about all you can do, the problem with 650SX hoods is that they warp, I have two here that had massive crack in the inner liner that I had to fix , it's all part of the same issue , when the hood warps it cracks the inner liner usually , consider yourself lucky.

    Surface rust on bearing cage

It's probably the best thing you can do for the longevity of your engine other than cranking it up on land and blowing the water out the exhaust , Some of the Internation model Polaris watercraft had a primer setup that pulled oil out of the oil tank and injected it at the flame arrestor just...

    Surface rust on bearing cage

My response was to jhuckie's post , he didn't specify a stroke on his crank question so I assume stock stroke and my comments were geared to that assumption , I do agree with your analysis of SBT cranks however , I personally never had great sucess with them and that is on stock couch engines, I...

    PMF (poor mans fiberglass)

Not so sure airplanes are the place to go cheap, I have used plenty of dope and silk cloth building model airplanes before though.

    Surface rust on bearing cage

Here is the thing, this is a listing for a WSM crankshaft rebuild kit for a 650-760 Yamaha , I doubt you will find anything much cheaper than that so $417.72 plus tax , plus shipping , the price on an SBT rebuild which is what Jetmaniac uses in their engine builds is $285.00 plus shipping and...

    Surface rust on bearing cage

There isn't any black magic to it , you need more knowledge than special tools , you do need a bearing Seperator set at least a 30 ton press and some dial indicators, feeler gauges and a fairly large brass hammer though. I used to rebuild Seadoo cranks all the time till the rebuilt cranks got...

    PMF (poor mans fiberglass)

I saw these vids posted on another forum , one of my main backgrounds is SMC-FRP gelcoat repair but one of my other backgrounds is in cabinet building so this caught my eye and I found it rather interesting , I don't think it has any practical application on watercraft other than building a...

    The battered SN restoration

Somewhere in my list of unfinished projects is a old EZ-GO golf cart sitting on a stretched LT3004x4 chassis , maybe one day.

    The battered SN restoration

Harley Davidson golf cart , when you put it in reverse the engine fires up and runs in reverse .

    Project "Holeshot" - A "semi budget" 1990 650sx

And modified skis turn differently than stock skis , otherwise there would be no need to modify anything. It's seems like there is a whole industry built around that simple concept but for the life of me I can't remember which one, mountain bikes maybe ?

    Project "Holeshot" - A "semi budget" 1990 650sx

A couple more things I need to add , this ski is in a constant state of flux , I have new ideas , I implement them , I am considering doing a major ski redo that no one has ever seen before so stay tuned to that thread , I may consider posting it here as well.. If you are a 650SX nut such as...

    Project "Holeshot" - A "semi budget" 1990 650sx

Well as usual I will play devils advocate here , yes it can be done because I have done it , here are some pics and the mods I did to mine , it is defiantly not slippery and it turns on a dime , plus the ski is a lot more playful for just recreational riding. I added tubbies , mostly because I...

    Super Jet Ring replacement time?

Probably not a bad idea on a Yamaha

    Super Jet Ring replacement time?

Complete engine fully assembled except for the carbs and the exhaust , block off plates go on the intake manifold and on the exhaust ports , air is injected at 10 PSI then a gauge is installed to measure how much pressure it holds over a 10 -15 minute time span , worst case it needs to be less...

    Bonding

I am assuming when he said he was bonding a new nose on a ski that it was Metton-SMC or FRP to Metton -SMC , I may be making an ass out of u and me though.

    Bonding

I have done it both ways, if you already have epoxy then mix up some cabosil and go for it, just realize unless you have tropical hardener your working time goes down to nothing , this is totally dependent on the on air temp where you are of course , in the winter months you could probably get...
