We have been having good luck with a high pitched 550 pump, impeller setup. I would run no less than an 18 pitch. The hull looks great with that engine in it.
yea. the blaster 1200 is a sick ride. the engine in the 550 was an old school pjs 800cc motor built on a 650 bottom end. sick old school power. they were rated at 90 hp back in the day. The camera taking pics for me crapped out and corrupted all the files.
I did not get any pics of my crazy 550 that I had on the pool deck all weekend. The camera taking pics of it for me seemed to crap out. If you have any pics of my ski, I would really appreciate it if you could e-mail them to me at rhaasproducts@gmail.com
thanks, had a great time everyone
we have a conversion kit to put a yamaha 650-701-760 motor into a 440-550 hull, and conversion plates to put kawasaki 650-750-800 motors into them as well.
the hulls are small and squirly compared to modern skis. they take a lot more time getting used to but in the right hands, these hulls can...
the kawasaki sleeves are cast into the cylinders while yamaha sleeves are pressed in. the yamaha sleeves can shift when heated up to the temp required for powdercoating.
the motor mounts will break in over time and absorb more vibration. when they are new they have more reboundn in the urethane compound than stock, this causes the vibrations. over time the rebound will lessen and the vibration dampening will return to almost stock feel.
i make adapter plates to mount mikuni carbs on the stock manifold and it converts them to a speed plate setup at the same time. no need for an aftermarket intake manifold. see the thread here http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/106609-new-from-Rhaas-products-carb-speed-plate-systems-for-kawasaki
it was great hanging out with you Matt. I had a great time meeting all the faces to go along with the names that i already know. props to nick for going through the trouble of putting this event on.
Rhaas products will be at daytona and we are looking for cores. need motor mount cores (any type even couches) and yamaha midshaft cores.
Cores will be paid in customer credit.
We will be there with many products in order to show everyone what they are all about.
look forward to seeing everyone.
motoman, yours is shipping early next week.
I have run similar static testing with similar elongation results. i have since changed to a fatigue test in order to give real life expectancy out of the mounts. The fatigue test has led me to change numerous details about the construction of the...
All mounts should fail under extreme conditions. if they dont then damage to hull and insets in hull will happen. I have produced close to 800 mounts and have had less than 40 individual failures. That less than a 3% failure rate. Most of my failures came from a bad batch of material from a...
what you think is the fuel pump is actually a rev limiter. it dumps fuel in the carb to limit the rpm at the rev limit. you can just clip the wires and have no rev limiter.
