    All depends on budget. Your need atleast 8-10k to buy/build something capable. More CC will help a lot. For flatwater, I like atleast 900cc+, but seen it done with a stock 701.

    Look at your stator plate, your see 2 dots. One is advanced 5 degrees and the other is retard 5 degrees.

    Lots of info with photos on this subject. Your see a dot(dot=5 degrees) either side of the 0 degree mark, you want 2 degrees advanced or about 2mm.
