As long as you keep the nose above the water its ok. towing backwads isnot a good idea :)..
water lines have nothing to do with flooding the ski, its the vent openings on the hood that cause most of the water intrusion
Cops are good guys :)... pulled us over for riding too close to shore. Yelled and cursed at us (lots of F words from the female lesbian cop.. ) because they got little wet for going out past the inlet, gave us tickets, then they found out my license has been suspended for some reason (I forgot...
Damm yeah :), next time bring more gas lol :)). I tried once the same hull with 1000cc. I guess the 1000cc is more for pro riders who can manage the literally insane power. Saturday demo ride was a blast and absolute fun with the new motor. I could not believe what a difference the hull makes...
Are you sure you had enough gas? The ski starts bogging at more than a quarter left in the tank which is a sign to switch to reserve and go back for refill..
You don't need choke, especially if you have the stock flame arrestor.. Just put your hand on the air intake and there is your choke. I have my bilge switch on the choke hole. Just remove the cable, nothing else on the carb side.
That depends on the altitude you ride your ski etc. For sea level like FL its about right for rough tuning.. for fine tuning, you would need tachometer and adjust the carbs while riding. I tuned mine I think 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 and never touched them again.. there is a thread how to properly adjust...
No need to change the spring. If you don't remove the carbs, there is a big chance to strip the screws heads holding the diaphragms. They are soft as hell.. Order the adjusting screws with handles so you know how many turns u've done and for easy adjustment. Use good screw driver, remove the carbs.
We almost turned our skis into $0 last weekend :) sometimes from all the excitement we all get little stupid and forget that mother nature and specially ocean is not a joke.
Btw I found the rails for you :).

Give me a courage pls :) how many guys out there with SJ 701 motors make barrel rolls and back flips in the surf? I absolutely agree that most people are looking for more upgrades than upgrading their skills.. I am looking forward to finally land at least a barrel roll with my lightly modded...
Drill a tiny hole and pull them out with a screw. The caps are painted black. I highly recommend to get those adjusting screws with handles for easy and accurate adjustment. I did not change the spring, only the jets and the ski has been good to me since then..
If you decide to re-staple the chinpad, make sure to use stainless steel or glue it. I used superglue by holding little by little the gray cover onto the plastic to keep it tight and it has not failed yet. Take your time on drilling your pole for the a/m cable. It is a one time shot :) You will...
