Lake Allatoona September 5,6,7th 2014 Southern Fried/Jesse "Wasteland" Memorial Ride

Hahaha! We laughed like little girls putting that on your ski. "Hey Harrison, do a tail stand!" "A what? Why?" "Just do it, we want to see it!" Hehe.... Just spent yesterday wrenching on my ski - how do starter solenoids know when you are heading to a ride? Luckily I had a spare one sitting...

I have to pick a site that we can get our trailer into - 35' gooseneck that's not particularly easy to manoeuvre (yes, proper spelling!). Will give them a call tomorrow to see what will work.

Freestyle RIP WASTELAND - We lost a member today.

Damn. I loved that kid. Even if he did put too much adhesive on when we turfed his ski. RIP my friend.

Other The What is your biggest Rookie move on a build.

Tricky was helping me get my carbs dialed in. Don't know how many times I pulled the carbs off to put bigger and bigger jets in till I realized I had pinched the head o-ring. No amount of jetting can make up for an air leak that big!

    Flatwater freestyl on super jet

First things first: if you plan to get upside down you'll need some footholds. I'd also recommend chopping a few inches off your stock pole and getting a lowered bracket - those two mods will do wonders for you barrel roll. A shortened turnplate also helps a bunch.

Hey Jimmy. No, been a difficult year for me for riding - haven't been out once! We put a pool in at the end of last year and I spent every waking moment this spring and early summer doing the landscaping (wall, deck, paving, fencing etc.) I've been traveling a bunch too, so that's been a more...

    Freestyle Foothold Suggestions

Most people actually have them way back, and many footholds don't give you a choice since they are designed to tuck around the rear of the gunwales. Blowsion Kickers are definitely like that, but I'm not sure about the Diggers. It's a different story in the surf, but from your avatar it looks...

Freestyle Hows my glass work look?

With the cloth you are using you should be able to skin your knuckles on it! If you use a lot of excess resin then it will be smooth and glassy, because all you are feeling is resin. If you didn't wet the cloth properly then it will feel soft like it did before you layed it up. If you got it...

Freestyle Hows my glass work look?

No worries: discussion is good. But I absolutely gurantee that epoxy will cure slower if you keep it cooler. And spreading it thin increases the surface area to volume ratio which helps it to stay cooler. Edit: as long as the outside air is cooler that the temperature of the resin as it starts...

Wow - I'm glad I read this thread. Haven't used TAT in ages since it wasn't showing new posts. I guess things have improved a LOT! Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk

Freestyle Hows my glass work look?

Here's a tip: for more working time with your resin pour it out of your mixing container onto a flat sheet like a baking sheet or something similar. That helps keep it cool and slows down the curing dramatically. Epoxy cures fast in a container because it gets warm as it cures, which makes it...

    Surfriding Protective Mods?

One more suggestion: search on "pole limiting strap" which is a good way to reduce pole stress.

    Surfriding Protective Mods?

Yes, there's a lot you can do. Here are some suggested searches that will turn up some useful information: Look up "reinforcing" to see how people add some layers of fiberglass inside the hull and particularly along the bondline to help improve strength. Look up "Kenny Keepers" as a great...

Exactly. Why consciously create situations that could cause major problems when you can so easily avoid them? There are enough dodgy situations you can't avoid to go about creating them for yourself....
