    Custom/Hybrid Planning a PFP waterbox build...cause I'm cheap

They say oxy/acetylene works fine with a neural flame (not too much acetylene), but propane up to .25" also works according to their website, then Mapp for thicker, then oxy/acetylene for heavier jobs. A rose bud works best, all you are doing is heating the metal up, you don't even need to heat...

    Custom/Hybrid Planning a PFP waterbox build...cause I'm cheap

Me too! Check those rods out here: http://www.aluminumrepair.com/ You have to buy a lb at the minimum, but I found smaller quantities on ebay. I've brazed other metals, but never aluminum, so I'll need some practice pieces. I figure I'll completely braze the baffles to one side of the box...

    Custom/Hybrid Planning a PFP waterbox build...cause I'm cheap

Ya they do. I know they claim that theirs "was designed to maintain correct back pressure in the exhaust chamber to obtain maximum performance" but what do I really have to lose? Maybe a few ponies?

    Custom/Hybrid Planning a PFP waterbox build...cause I'm cheap

Ok, so I purchased a used PFP with resonator, and I hate loud skis, so I'm out to build myself a waterbox. Sure you say "why don't you just buy one, they are $225 +shipping"....and the answer to that would be; I'm cheap and believe I can build one for MUCH less, like ~$75. Here's my parts...

    Custom/Hybrid exhaust mani for dasa

I believe you will need to grind the manifold itself and possibly space the head pipe. Maybe you can just make a spacer to move your manifold out from your engine 1/2"? You can find headpipe spacers at Canadian Freestyle probably other places too, but this is the one I know of.

SXR sxr carb setting for a.m. arrestors

BK's right. Each filter is going to be different, then different if you put on outerwears, and different for your elevation, and different if you have stock pipe or aftermarket, etc. Read through: THIS and THIS Hit the lake and give it a go.

    Custom/Hybrid Billet engines blowing up??

I remember using Wiseco Small Pin Kawi bearings on a Yamaha engine with no thrust washer as well.

Methanol and Ethanol also contain their own oxygen. In comparison to straight 100% gasoline that runs at 14.7:1 stoichiometric, Methanol is 6.47:1 and Ethanol is 9:1. If you are already running E10 gasoline, that averages out to 14.13:1. When you take a look at Sunoco 260 GT that has 3.3%...

SXR Sxr won't turn over NEED HELP!!

Ya, to be the Bendix, it would have to physically be frozen in the bushings, or something came apart and jammed it. Not likely, but possible.

Super Jet Red pipe to b-pipe?

On your B pipe, the manifold bolts to the cyl, the headpipe is self supporting and bolts to the manifold, then the chamber slips on and it kinda wedges into your hull. You'll see, pretty self explanatory when you get your hands on it.

Super Jet Red pipe to b-pipe?

B pipe doesn't use any mounts....assuming you are talking about a SJ limited or mod.

SXR Sxr won't turn over NEED HELP!!

You really need a meter if you plan on working with anything electical. A meter would have told you right away that you either have power to your starter or you don't, if you did have power, and have a good ground, it's the starter or bendix frozen in place (I've never seen this though, but I...

    SXR Hood weight reduction question.

I don't recall what I cut out of it. Seems like I had it down to like 16#. I'm in the middle of some mods for my build, so it's not accurate as it sits. I also removed ALL brackets off of it. No front stainless thing, no fire extinguisher and bracket, no hood pad (hydroturf pad on my pole)...

    SXR Hood weight reduction question.

http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/37894-SXR-Hood-Mods When you flip your hood over, you will see one side is open for an air intake, you can cut the other side open as well so it can get air from either side.

    SXR Hood weight reduction question.

Mine's been cut for over a year with just the rear one, and for many years with the Blowion front block off. I noticed no difference in running from before to after on my ski with Blackjacked carbs, wet pipe, head and ignition. The air necessary for your engine is related to engine size, RPM...
