The pump is the housing the impeller sits in. The vanes in the pumps help straighten out the flow coming off the spinning impeller.

Those are the Jettribe boots. I had a pair, but my feet are too wide so I sold them. They were comfortable and had good grip. One of my riding buddies has some too. He loves them.
