Make sure the hood liner is sealed all the way around too. They tend to open up after a while and need to be resealed. All my FX's stay really dry unless I sub the crap out of it.

Wow.....don't ever move to a saltwater location!! I don't even like getting grains of beach sand in my van!

When I had my Quigley Van in Daytona, I had several inqueries about my setup for carrying my skis. I made a waterproof tray and then made 2 sets of sliding runners so each ski can be managed separately. The tray is simple, just a sheet of high grade 1/2" plywood with a 1x1 perimeter piece routed...

I can believe with all the aftermarket hoods out there for SJs that someone hasn't copied the FX hood/plenum design so you won't need scuppers and bilge pumps. My FXs stay bone dry with just the stock siphon bilge and I beat the shiz out of it!

FX is pretty surf ready right out of the box. I rode the crap outta mine in the surf for 10 years before making any mods (other than pipe and prop). With it's great hood design, it's also one of the most watertight skis ever........I've never run an electric bilge or scupper....and never will...
