sold a 2000 sj a few weeks back for $2450. new owner pm's me upset about hood paint peeling off. he's removing the hood stickers and the hood paint is peeling off with the decals and he's really upset about it. i have 3 other guys ready to buy it as is. should i buy it back from him...

where do sxr hulls crack usually? ie:the 750's used to crack around the upper part of nose for the most part. how about sxr's?

repaired a few ski hulls with system3 epoxies. wherever i used polyester based product on top of repair i had problem with adhesion and peeling or bubbling up. something is going on at the junction of these products. contacted system3 and was told that sometimes it works,other times not.idk...

you'd think after all these years that the color formula would be available from yamaha. iremember about 23 years ago contacting the kawi factory in the states to get the exact imron code for the 550 red. still have it for the optic red and glacier white i think.

and the hoods were never gel coated.all painted and the paint still comes off even in 2008. no discernable differences between years. i've had a 99,2000,2003,2004,2005 and 2007 and they're all pretty much identical as far as hull quality. also some have the back end of the outside of gunwales...

stay with doubles as there is no need to run singles ever..you can go 185lbs especially at 2000 ft.

yeah, i had it nice and tight as well but then it split on me anyway.

how do you figure that? if your engine makes x amount of torque,that's what the impeller will tighten itself to as it encounters resistance in the water plus or minus slippage. granted 50ftlbs is probably more than most 701 pump out anyway and the friction created will somewhat prevent further...
