I just picked p one of these and tried it out while I was at Daytona. It has all stainless hardware and it's super light and doesn't absorb any water.....so it stays super light! I always liked my Bellistic but didn't like that it weighs a ton when wet and the hardware rots away in a season...

I bet this will be a major handling improvement. It would also be cool to see what the effect of softening the outside edges of the hull would be.
If I recall, that was only a slightly warmed over 550 (pipe, prop, milled head, scoop, plate, bars, etc..) It felt pretty strong back then because we didn't know any better! I did all my early surf riding on a 440 superstock and I felt it hit hard.
Yeah, Finesse, not power. That 550 had about as much power and pump as a Superjet with a plug wire off and a plastic bag in the pump!.....it made you ride smooth as to not scrub off momentum.
That said, I want to get the flip down too. I've really only tried one and it came right around and seemed the easiest trick I ever tried (for the 1st time). On the other hand, I've been workiing on perfecting re-entries for about 30 years!!
That's the "Magic Carpet Ride" in NJ waters.......it's fun as hell. It really doesn't look like much, but when you get a good one that lets you travel 20'-30' completely backwards and then weight one of the rear corners and 180 out of it in a fluid motion, it's feels really cool!
