If that's cheaper then go for it, especially if you want to substitute any one of the components. The 12.5 Amp PSU should be plenty. IIRC, the other option was only 7.3 Amps which could be a limiting factor if you ever need a 1200oz motor for your Z axis like I have. I always upsize my PSU's by...

The Tormach 770 was the mill I referenced above but all the current models are more expensive than I remembered. The 440 is the only model around $11K. https://tormach.com/machines/mills.html

Any one of those kits is going to be a good starting platform to get you started. The PSU is the heart so make sure to get one big enough to cover off any future upgrades. The controller will run any machine so there’s no worry there. I bought the kit with the 350’s but upgraded to 500’s but I...

I just break my code into multiple smaller programs but I’m doing pretty basic stuff still. I bet that tool changer eats up the lines as well unless you can use canned cycles for that.

I’ve looked into upgrading to Mach4 a few times now but each time I read through the advantages, I end up sticking with 3. I can’t remember the specifics but I am pretty sure that it didn’t unlock or add anything that was restricting me. The only limit I see with mach3 is the 500 lines of...

    Security surveillance camera

My IT guy hooked his up to a smart things sensor and has it sending him alerts that way. I need to ask him what kind of a delay that system has. I have a stand-alone ADT system that just monitors for windows and water leaks. I could easily add a similar sensor and get it online and test it out.

Today was a good day - the counter to trivial complaints

Lost my credit card last night...tracked it back to the Longhorn Steakhouse and they were holding it for me when I got off work tonight. [emoji16]

    the trivial complaints thread

My wife mowed the lawn today and clipped the head clean off one of the sprinkler heads. On my last days off, I spent several hours digging them all up and raised them 4-5” to get them flush with the grass. I guess I have a couple that are too high now. [emoji2955] Normally she would leave it...

We used ours when we moved and put the sensor in the cab of our moving van overnight. We made sure we got a hotel room close enough to pick up the sensor. I’m pretty sure you can connect the sensors to multiple receivers and get alerts in multiple places at the same time. I wonder how long...

    Security surveillance camera

Both cameras will mount almost anywhere and look good so I really don’t think you can go wrong. They do come with a short wiring harness that you will likely want to be hidden. The bullet has a smaller mounting flange so it will fit in tighter places and it will articulate more. The dome is a...

Yes to the 4K 16ch NVR with bullet cams but I would snag at least 2 domes for our patio and front doors. Just depends on where you are mounting them. Side of the house = bullets Under the soffit or large flat surfaces = domes. I believe the dome has a slightly wider field of view as well.

I automated my not so secret hidden gun drawer today... And to be clear, this feature was the entire motivation behind the new bench build. [emoji16] I used a power window regulator, ($35), an RF remote kit, ($12), and a 3D printed battery adapter ($19) that accepts my milwaukee M12...
