    Help with building a ramp.

We have built two. The convertible: Height-6', width-6', length of face-15', frame made of 1 1/2" angle iron (galvanized). We floated it with styrofoam, 1' x 5' x 3' in the front, 18" x 5' x 4' under the lip. The face was first painted with an indoor/outdoor paint then covered with some...

    Busted Pole #2 FIXED!!! PICS.

I have an ACR that is of the double bend type. It has been hyper-extended doing a King Kong hard enough to rip the crown out of my SJ, twice. When learning to do backflips it landed upside down from 15 feet or more many times. I have landed on the side learning to do barrell rolls for a good 3...

pematex or 3 bond for case contact ?

If you use Yamabond make sure it is Yamabond 4. It is a non hardening silicone. I use both Yamabond 4 and 3 bond 1211. One is white and the other is gray. Both are very thin and easy to clean off upon tear down. Either will be great.

Dropping in a 760 into a stock square

You will need to swap the ebox and stator if you don't have a flywheel. The 760 comes with a flywheel-cover mounted stator (like the 1200 Yamaha), whereas the 650 comes with a case mounted stator. Keefer is correct, the exhaust from the 650 will not work in any way. Physically, if the 760...

No spark on my 650.. either plug

Start at the source and check all components thoroughly. Don't forget the little things like corrosion and connections. Be methodical in your approach. If you can find someone with a peak voltage meter, you will likely have found two very helpful things. Peak voltage is the quickest, most...

Does your ground wire get super hot?

Don't forget to check your battery voltage. A fully charged lead/acid battery is about 12.6 vdc, a gel battery about 13 vdc. Also if you have access to an inductive ammeter, do an amp draw test while cranking. You could have a bad starter. Watch the meter, it should be kinda high when you first...

    Damned occupational hazard !!!!

Down time all depends on whether or not the tendon tears or stays in tact. Still plannin on the Destin Waverunner release in 11 days. Hopefully the bleeding will have stopped by then and maybe the stitches can come out. This weekend, think I'll stay home and recover a bit.

    Damned occupational hazard !!!!

Sometimes working as a motorcycle technician puts you on less than worthy machines. I had one this morning with brake failure. Very low speed crash into another unit. No damage to the units. Can't say the same for my foot, 2 1/2" laceration and a broken bone. The "sheath" for a tendon was also...

    Broken piston

Do yourself a favor. Change the crank seals. Also always do a leakdown test before tear down and after any internal parts, seals or gaskets are replaced. Do this test after reassembly before you put the coupler, stator or flywheel on the engine and with it removed from the hull. This may be a...
