Despite the thought that the extinguisher would be used to help others. If my ski would catch on fire, I wouldn't swim away, nor spend the time reaching for the fire extinguisher. I would just unhook that hood latch and "flip the ski" over. Problem solved. :arms:

Yeah, I have a bilge...that strainer is in the trash... what about the filter? what is that used for? seems like a random hose...from the lower inside of pole to gas tank? :shrug:

Yeah that is true, but if your friend has never surfed or has little knowledge of swells and knows very little of where and how a wave is going to break; don't you think you are putting them in danger? I'm really not that great of a jet ski surf rider (I really just started), but I was raised...

I would probably rethink putting a friend on a ski in the surf. Its your ski, so you are automatically reliable for your friend. Just from my experiences with dirt bikes and other toys...I will never let a friend ride one of my toys again unless I knew for certain that they were capable of...

This build is my inspiration. I am already doing a pretty big project, but once school is out next year, I am totally lowering my pole bracket on my FX and making the pole flush with the hood. Well done on your ski, well done.

haha, if someone told me not to do something because they thought that I couldn't, I would probably go out and do it just to prove them wrong, but thats just me. when i first got my fx1, i didnt ride a stand up for over 2 years. i first took out that fx in the surf....needless to say, i did not...

hah, well whatever I do, the driveshaft has to be okay. Dremel sounds like eternity...If their is a way, I will find it. So far I like the idea of heating up the coupler, then taking it off with the vice...Thanks for everyones input...

Yeah thanks man that idea sounds pretty reasonable. I mean its a kawasaki driveshaft with the kawi coupler. I am putting a yamaha coupler on that kawi driveshaft, so I need it to be okay. Do you know if the driveshaft on the kawi is standard thread? and what would i use to heat it up with, a...

How the heck do I take this off?!?!? (its a kawasaki 900zxi driveshaft that is threaded.) shops told me it would be between $80-$150 just to take the coupler off the driveshaft.

So I am finishing on gathering all of the parts and this is what is officially going on the ski, and remember this is a completely stock FX1 with ride plate, everything listed besides rideplate I had to buy, making $7.75 at a surf shop. Hull- Reinforced hull Reinforced pole Tubbies 1 Complete...
