Good choice going with 144. When I was into X2s, I could never get a stuffed Kaw 140 to hookup even 70% as good as a stock 144 with just a big hub impeller.

I admit I do not know for sure, but looking at the XFS plate, its like 1/2 the size of the FS/FR.

Good advice here. If I were to do it over again I would NOT go the new route, way too much instant depreciation. Some of the used deals I have seen you could completely rebuild the motor to new, replace the normal problem electric parts new, and still have a few thousand left over.

Update on this: After 16days of surfriding in Daytona focusing on actually improving my riding, I felt like I needed to try something to keep the nose down a bit more on the FS2. Its really not that bad, but I felt like my weight was in the right spot and was still room for improvement...

Getting some on you is not going to kill you, but most epoxy's contain phenol and dimethoxybenzidine....both known carcinogens. Add in a ton of other nasty chemicals and its probably not a bad idea to try to keep it off you if you can avoid it. Nitrile gloves are cheap at HF, and good...

I agree, I was very anti scupper after a bad experience with a oneway valve scupper years back. I have to say the versiplug "block off" setup is a good compromise, allowing draining and not swamping in 15secs if it goes upside down. I had my ski upside down floating 50' away from me atleast...

If your willing to drive to Georgia, go another hour south to Daytona. Its only a 14.5hrs drive at night, and I am north of you. Beach patrol loves jetskiers, drive right onto the beach and legallly surfride 365 days a year, MUCH warmer water/air then MB will be, and you have good nightlife.

I went on a surfriding trip to MB in March 5years ago and beach cart launched everyday for a week. The campground we stayed at was very cool and let us cart over the sand. They did tell us if anyone complained we would have to stop. With that said our ski were quiet, and we treaded lightly...

Understood, but the volume of water the versi allow via air loss.... if you have your breather hoses routed correctly, is very limited. The hole on the versi is tiny. But yes its def more then if there is no scupper/holes in the hull. My RRP scupper would allow the hull to take on tons of...
