I've been doing it for a few months with great results. It won't build huge muscles, but you'll get in incredible shape if you stick with it.

I doubt that thing would do much of anything in a large area. Probably not as effective as salt-away and a good hose-down after riding. What are you trying to prevent corrosion on? You could always bolt a small sacrificial anode onto the engine and pump.

Just add a waterproof plug or fuse holder in between the battery and pump. When you're done riding, just disconnect it. Doesn't need to be this difficult.

Spend money on good parts and it won't break down nearly as much. My SJ kept crapping out on me, so I put about a grand into it all at once replacing worn-out parts. Now it's as reliable as I could ask for. Low-cost, reliability, and performance... pick two, cause you can't have all three.

We use these where I teach flying lessons. Our planes are modified to run on auto fuel, so we run it through the funnels to ensure there's no water in it. Every now and then we find a trace amount, but not enough to be a problem for the separator on the ski.

That's the closest public ramp. Never tried carting to the water. A bunch of guys haul fishing carts to the inlet, but I have no idea if you could get a ski down the paths that they use. I'm on the island right now if anyone wants to ride before Saturday.

Lockwood Folly inlet, my usual stomping ground. Just name a time on the 15th and I'll be there. Then again, name a time any day for the next three weeks and I'll be there.

Which inlet? Shallotte inlet usually has a nice bar break a few hundred feet offshore.
