I probably would have gone that route, however I was running a stock FX1, so I really had to get my momentum up to get the ski out of the water. I had to time my hop perfectly with the correct amount of throttle to do that, and that was difficult.

Your going to spend more time and money building that 550 then it would to buy a completely built 550. Mark's ski is BUILT, better off getting his and using your 550 for parts. Thats just my take on it...

I am doing something like this very similar. My gunwales are about 1 1/4" wide, and I am making them like the SXR rails and the highest point of the gunwale will most likely be about 2" lower then the stock height for the yamaha gunwales. looks great though!

I have only seen one person do this. He is saying that instead of having your feet on top of both sides of the rails...have both feet on one side on the rails. The problem is, is that whichever side your feet are on, the ski is going to naturally dip to that side. Now, turning away from the side...
