Cool....I think the pipe works well. One interesting point is that when taking a Wetjet engine and putting a B-pipe on it, no jetting changes are required...Hmm...
Sounds like your pump bearings might be a little whooped. The prop on a 650 is normal thread, not reversed. Just wanted to correct that so you don't drive youtself nuts trying to get the prop off.
PM Idok, he's probably got more cockpit time on an F1 pro than anyone.
An FX will be more challenging to ride than a SJ, but also more rewarding (IMHO). I think they're very stable at high speed, but I'm sure others will tell you they're unridable.
Just got it in the water and running decent this weekend. It runs very well so far and has a nice powerband (very smooth). It feels very similar to my 61x-scream engine as far as power delivery and smoothness.
As far as a direct comparison, I'm afraid it's apples and oranges. My 61-xscream...
Are these dates nailed down, and is the location and event hotel the same??
I already have a reservation for the original dates and I want to cancel and get another locked down, but solid info seems sketchy so far.....come on Junkies....help a brutha out :)
Also, You can use vinylester resin (or even polyester) on an FX-1 since it's made out of polyester not SMC....you don't have to use epoxy.
They're also pretty strong right out of the box (haven't cracked one in 18 years of abuse), with the exception of the flange for the hood. Best to fill...
We all run the SJ tank in our FXs and even though it has more capacity than the FX tank, it actually provides more space for the pipe. Plus, even with 5 gals I still run out of gas!
