It takes 2 seconds to pop them off with a press and there's no risk of nicking the shaft. Why would you go to all that trouble cutting them off when you still need to use a press to re-install the bearings

Dont cut them off, a press is the only right way to install them, so you might as well use it to removed the bearings. If you dont have a press pay someone to remove and install the bearings for you

Are you re-installing this shaft into a different stator section? I have never been a fan of re-using old bearings
