I noticed some cracks in the fiberglass when I got the bracket off the pole. It looks like I can reinforce it pretty easily though. Is there a way to get that styrofoam out of it without just hacking away at it with a knife? Also, what kind of rivets/adhesive do I need to put this back together?

What's the best way to remove the bracket from the pole? I didn't realize that there was a he civ underneath the rivets. Does it need to be heated up?

I tried that but it wouldn't budge. I was afraid that I would pull the wires out of the connector. I'll try again with a few jewelers screwdrivers. What about the red/brown wires? I can't see any plug connectors on them. Do they have to be cut?

Well one way or another this pole has to come off. I've got it all disassembled but I can't figure out how to disconnect the start/stop wires. I can see down in the engine bay where they are fastened by a connector and some heat shrink. I can't get that connector apart no matter how hard I try...
