Just because you run the ski hard for a few minutes does not mean the Coil on the stator is getting fully heated. What JC is meaning that over time the Coil could be heating up enough to start breaking down. This is not related to heat from the cylinders, this is overall heat built up...

They are not exactly bolt and go. You have to screw the ends to the hull also... far from perfect fit.
