What does the white/red wire to the stator do? I'd imagine if I swap those to the CDI wrong it wouldnt even run....
Though I must say it runs horrible at idle, so maybe...
hmm... I have considered white. I always love old white boats with stock kawi graphics. They always look clean with minimal care... but I'm not sure if it will be a bit of an understatement next to all that carbon.
The way I understand it, to fill a line, all vintage skis would be raced together, but then scored into +/- 650cc. Similar to LeManns.
Eitherway, if it wasn't run what you brung, my ski would be severely out classed....
On a side note...
Apparently the fastest way to remove paint on a 550 is a razor blade.
I just took the entire hood down to perfectly smooth bare SMC in under 30 minutes.... wow. It all just flaked off in large sheets. That made my night easier.
Thats the thing... I could really go with whatever color? Though I'm not a fan of many blue shades...
When its all said and done, I like classy and simple color schemes as opposed to busy schemes like Ive seen on lots of blowsion skis and what not..
Unless of coarse its gaudy as hell and...
I'm looking to get enough guys together to convince Mike Young to open the vintage class during the 2010 Hydro X tour.
There probably wont be much, if any cash purse... But just for the hell of showing up and racing with other boats that are similar. I know that almost everyone racing will...
Also, someone just told me hydroturf just came out with a brown camo design that looks just like woodgrain.... I think it might be killer to have a woody design with some beat up satin brown paint and some airbrushing on top....
So I'll be painting my ski in the next few days....
in case you dont know its a sj550. What should be my primary solid color? And what should I make my color scheme be? I am a fan of red with the black carbon bottom. It just really stands out.
However I have been itching...
I knew where they were all along. In my aluminum and stainless scrap pile. You never said anything else about them.
Yes, I figured I need at least a solid coat of paint on this so I can show it off to companies for sponsorship.
Anyone have ideas on color? I always thought the red...
heat gunned and razor bladed the 21 year old stickers... Tough :-):-):-):-).
Now do I start prepping for paint now, or do I start hacking up the nose first?
Negative... Switch has always worked perfectly, and has not really been in salt lately. I'm almost convinced I either switched one of the two white or two black wires.... Mixed the stop switch with the stator line.
Fastest way to get paint off? Ideas? Faster than a dual...
Stock is almost 5 gallons if you fill it to the top. I have a 3 gallon in my js550.... I think there are more than enough tank options out there to not need to produce another.
