eerr...screws stuck on umi pole...

Well I'm takin my UMI steering system off and the damn screws are stuck...

Any quick tips on how to get these out without stripping the allen heads??

Heat them up? Try penetrating oil. That stuff works good.

PB Blaster penetrating oil works very good.

ive drilled them out very easily. anti seize is your friend.

had that happen on mine. Said fck it and sold the whole ski. Superjets arnt worth it. Suckkaaa :loser:

Don't thread them into the pole next time. Even with the best grease mixing the two different metals(stainless and aluminum) will bond themselves together over time(faster in salt water).

I drilled the holes on mine and rely on lock nuts only to hold the bearing system on. Lots of grease everywhere.



As for removing those I would heat the crap out of the pole(try not to heat the bolt) with a blow torch and whack the area with a small punch/hammer to break the corrosion out of there then try to loosen the bolts. Heat is your friend when you have stuck bolts.
