I agree with Mike, you want it all the way to the bottom. This way when its upside down, it is above the water line!

20? Pro Watercross Averaged maybe 3 entries per event. To get 20 would be freaking awesome!!!!!!!!! There are so many riders on here that are capable of competing, except they dont compete..........

He may have had enough incoming air to not choke it out as bad, but enough to make tuning all wonky. On my old SJ I had a small exhaust leak that combined with the early model Wammer Hood that did not breathe well had my ski choking down.
